Garajonay Tour

Our most popular programme is our introductory tour to the highest mountain of the island, Garajonay. Even beginners, who have never sat on a mountain bike before can take part.

After a small introduction on the technique of mountain biking and changing gears the tour leads through small forest paths through the southern part of the national park.

The highest mountain on the island

Canary pine trees, tall heaths, laurels and brooms define the vegetation.

The ride to the island’s highest mountain, Garajonay (1.487 metres) is the longest climb of the day.

Terrific view

If the weather is good, you have a terrific view from here of the entire island and the surrounding Canary Islands: Tenerife with the Teide (3.718 metres, La Palma, Hierro and Gran Canaria.

The tour continues through large pine forests and later through small, rarely used streets towards Chipude. During this part of the ride you can enjoy long, gentle descents.

Gomerian Lunch

Lunch consists of the typical Potaje with Gofio and Mojo (vegetable soup with roasted corn flour and spicy sauce) or fresh goat’s meat.

The tour then continues along the same road with stunning panoramic views of the deep valleys and ravines and out to sea.

Stunning descent into Valle Gran Rey

After a further off-road stretch through a gentle valley with vineyards and palm trees, covering all levels of difficulty, the fantastic descent to Valle Gran Rey begins.
