Garajonay Expres
The new speed ferry Garajonay Expres connects Tenerife directly with La Gomera, multiple times per day. She is the only ferry to sail to more than one of the islands ports San Sebastian de la Gomera Playa Santiago and Valle Gran Rey.
The passenger ferry, Garajonay Express, is ideal for travelling between the different regions of La Gomera quickly and cheaply.
Crossing even in heavy swell?
Because the sea between islands can be very choppy at times, the Garajonay Expres is not always the best option. On rough seas, only the hardest seafarers will feel comfortable.
The journey from San Sebastian along the south coast of the island is usually much more peaceful, because the route is to the lee of the island.
A Tip for the Return Journey
A return journey on the Garajonay Expres to Tenerife can be somewhat risky during high winds, if you have a plane to catch.
In such conditions, the Garajonay Expres only sails to San Sebastian. From there you would need to wait on the next big ferry going to Tenerife.
